We have appointed two new Principals – Mike Martin and Joe Seager. The duo will lead True’s Growth fund, investing in and supporting early-stage breakthrough brands and technologies building for the future of Consumer.
Mike joins the team with almost fifteen years of finance experience, the last eight of which have been venture investing across Europe, Israel, and the US on behalf of Sky. Mike helped lead their strategic investing efforts with early-stage tech businesses and prior, held several roles across commercial finance.
Joe brings nearly a decade of experience across strategy and investing, and joins True from Richard Branson’s family office where he led corporate strategy and development for the Virgin brand and supported the Branson family’s venture capital investments. Joe began his career at OC&C Strategy Consultants, where he focused on tech and media projects for private equity and corporate clients.

These latest hires will further strengthen the early-stage investment team, following the first close of its new early-stage fund – Growth Fund III – in autumn of last year. This £40m fund has already invested in businesses ranging from fashion rental app By Rotation, to plastics alternative producer Shellworks and v-commerce enabler Brandlab360.
